ehow earning site

Well, it is fun to share what you know and you will be paid for doing it. I know about this site from a friend in Associated content. She has a full time job as an IT at day time and she is writing at night time. wow!! that's how she earned extra bucks. I was curious to hear it that I check the site and I finally decided to join. I have about 49 articles on that site but I am not earning a lot every month because I have no focus.. hahaha I have a lot of sites to visit that's why my earnings are always carried over to the next month until I reach the pay out which is only $10 to reach every month. But in this site you will earn according to how useful is your article to the readers.
They make comment and promote it.. well, that's how I know about how we are paid in there.
I received my pay out 3 times already in that site. It's free to join just check ehow.com

You can share all the knowledge you have on how to things like.. how to make gluten. How to fly a kite, How to do laundry an easy way, How to cook macaroni in a unique way.. hahahah everything you know you can share it there. But they are not accepting international users and you have to join to their WC.. writing compensation in order to be paid. You must have a paypal account too. Try to check the site and enjoy. http://www.ehow.com/members/viol.html.target_ehow member viol.

Mylot earning site

This is the site I am so engross with. In here, I am not earning much money but I really enjoyed my stay in this site since I joined. Their pay out every month is not hard to reach if you are actively participating. This is a paid forum site where you can voice out everything you want. But be sure you will not violate their guidelines for posting and responding. I have been paid monthly by this site since I joined. Well, I started to be in mylot May 2008. I am almost 1 year in this site. They really pay unlike other sites that keep on promising something but did not happen. In mylot really pays not a scam. The good thing in this site is they will accept international members as long as they have paypal account. There are many members from the Philippines, India, UK, Canada, Indonesia, China and other places outside United States. It's free to join.

What I like in mylot is that you can gain friends who have great ideas and they are also supportive. I find it a good place to release you stress, vent, complain, disappointment, worries and everything, and there are people who will listen to you. That is what I like in this site.
It is free to join.. just check on this site.. http://www.mylot.com/?ref=Bebs08

I am enjoying now with the sites I am earning. You can earn too like I do if you will spend your time on it. Have focus to receive bucks at the end of the month. Set aside you TV viewing.. lol

Earning online

Earning online is fun. I love it. When I first join in this venture of earning online, I am having a hard time because I don't know what to do to earn and what site I'm going to join. While I was reading my email, I've found something interesting. It says, WORK FROM HOME AND EARN.. I was so curious to check what it is all about and what am I going to do to earn? well, I was direcred to the site looking for writers. Oh? I am not a writer hahaha.. but then I give it a try. It says there in their promotion, YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A WRITER, just share what you know to the world. So, it's fun. My first article was about classroom discipline. Well, I had experienced teaching in a classroom with more than 50 kids and discipline is a problem but I made it. I learned some techniques on how to deal with students who are hard to control. That was my first earning online. I was paid $4.20 for that article. Well, not bad, at least I am earning? My articles are found in here. http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/125082/lets.html

I am glad I have found some earning sites online and spend my time in there than just merely watching tv or sleeping while at home. Here in America, everyone must have something to do to earn a little extra to supplement the family income. I have a degree but seems no body will hire me when I apply for work. So I have decided to just stay home for a while but not to just sleep or having a good time but find something to do to earn bucks. There are many places you can earn online but it is not a get rich immediately as other job seekers would want to hahaha.
It needs perseverance, patience, determination and hard work. Spend time to grow in online earning.

Clearance Sale

I am always delighted to see poster that says.....CLEARANCE SALE. I' m sure most people would like to check what is it on sale. I surely do because we can find branded items which are expensive when we buy it at regular prices. But one thing I observed here in America is that when they have sale it is really cheap like 70 percent off, 80 percent and sometimes 90 percent off? Wow!!! but back in my country when stores have sale, it is very different from what I experienced here. No wonder most immigrants are sending lots of Balikbayan boxes to the Philippines full of branded goods because they are always watching the CLEARANCE SALE and other promotions every now and then.

The only thing is that the shipment is more expensive than the goods. lol.. I mean, they pay more for the shipment than the stuff that they put in the box. Anyway, that's the most awaited moment of all the family members left behind, the arrival of the Balikbayan box.

As I go around to some places with my friends, I can not control myself not to buy when there is sale. hahaha I just collect things which I think would be useful and other could use it if not me. I can give it as gift when there is special occasion. It is a good deal. I really love clearance sale.

Searching for Jobs

Job searching is not an easy game for me. One thing I have in mind is communication barrier. Hey!! this is America and everybody speaks English too fast I can not understand what they are talking about. I am hesitant to call the number for job vacancy, afraid that I might not be able to grasp every word or instructions they will give me. Well, I can understand English and can speak it too but it's hard to catch up what people had said when they talk so fast and could hardly be understood. Their accent is different from mine. What I did was to apply on line. I submit my resume for some job vacancies and finally I was called for an interview. She then told me that they are not the one who will hire but they will just recommend it to the hiring personnel. Well, fine!!! I called the hiring personnel but she then told me to wait for a call. Since that I did not hear from them. The problem is I have no state certificate yet and they need somebody who has a license or certified to teach. So then, I applied the vacancy that don't need a license. I receive an email telling me to submit my resume. After submitting my resume, I did not hear from them and as I check the vacancy again it was filled up. I am just wondering why they will not hire me? I applied to the position in line with my degree and what is the problem? Is it because I am not an American? Well, I then realized that I need to have a state certification to qualify for the job. I can take the certification anytime I want but still I am in the valley of decision whether I will do the teaching job or look for another type of job in which I will not be dealing with behavior problems, communication problems, etc. I was so frustrated because I want to have something to do in order to earn. But then I never give up. I look something online because many people said you can make money online. I search and search and I finally found some earning sites online which I will share with you on my next topic... hang on..

The Public Rest rooms in US

The public restrooms in US are far different from what we have in my country. Wow!! all toilet paper is free and there is hand soap and different kinds of hand lotion for you to use after using the rest rooms. There is a hand paper towel provided for you to use to wipe dry your hand after washing. All are free unlike in my country? you have to pay if you want to use the public rest room. Aside from paying the entrance to the restroom you also have to buy tissue paper or toilet paper to use. There are people at the rest room entrance selling the items. The American rest rooms have no faucet inside the room and no pail and dipper.. as what the public restrooms in other countries used to have. I even visited some rest rooms here in US where there is a mini living room area. There is a corner seat and a big mirror. There is also a place for mothers to change the diapers of their little baby. In some rest rooms like the church restrooms, they provided free diapers. When I first saw this, I was so amazed and feel like, Oh!! this is better than my house hahahah... The cool thing is that you will never bored waiting for your turn using the comfort room because you don't have to st and up on the line. There is a comfortable seat and reading materials for you to enjoy while waiting. The rooms are plenty and people who use it are few. The restrooms are really clean and smells fresh.

Winter is not Fun for me

While most people really like winter time because they want to play in the snow, skiing, making snow balls, skating in the snow but for me it is the most uncomfortable weather of the year. Well, I don't know anything about skating or skiing so, it's no fun for me when winter comes. Oh yes, I love to see the snow, I like to watch the snow falls but I don't like the cold. I have to use 3 layers of coat when I will be out from the house. I am living in the state where snow is not that heavy and the temperature is not so low but still I am not used to that type of weather. We seldom have temperature below 10 degrees. We are always in 20 below or above. Unlike the other states? they usually have below zero temperature and they have to shovel the snow in their yard. Too much expense plus the oil for heater and electricity bills are increasing every winter. I never experience thick snow here in my place. We only have snow 2-3 times during winter and is not that bad. We only have 3 inches and that's it. But it is really cold for me. Good that we used wood stove to heat our house so we were able to cut down electricity bills and oil expense for the heater. But still I am not comfortable with the cold. When I saw winter and the snow time in movies I thought it is fun but when I experience it myself, I keep on hoping it will end soon. It is not fun!! cold... cold... cold...

Adjusting to American food

Adjusting to American food is really hard. There are many Filipinos here who are not eating the American food. They will cook the food that they used to eat in the Philippines like, fish tinola, fried fish, salted fish, dried fish, etc. In my case, I can't do that unless I am alone in the house. My husband is a vegetarian and I don't want to offend him eating meat or fish with him though he said I can eat what I want but I preferred not to when he is around. I have to eat the American food and practice preparing that kind of food because I am already here. In my first taste of the salad, I can not stand it. I used to eat blanched salad so, their fresh salad doesn't appeal to me. I used soy sauce for my salad plus fresh tomatoes and Onions but theirs, they used salad dressings of different flavors I never tasted before. It took me several months to be used to that kind of salad. Their spaghetti doesn't appeal to me either, I don't like the way they made it but that is what my husband used to eat so, I have to prepare it for him and I also practice eating the same. I have no idea of cooking American food but I ask from friends and search on the net. I used to eat rice 3 times a day but now, I only have rice maybe 3-4 times a month. I usually eat toast in the morning, which I never did before,, Lol and then anything I can get for lunch will do for me since I am alone at day time. At night, I have to prepare dinner so, I will make potato casserole, beans, pasta, etc, Well, I still missed the rice and the fish tinola but
I am not craving now like others do. Though I am still adjusting to American food but I can live with it now.

Taking the learner's permit to drive

I was encouraged by friends to get a learner's permit so that I can start driving on the road not on the driveway only. Lol. So, I studied the driver's manual. Do you believe that when you re not interested in that certain thing, you are having a hard time understanding it? I do believe on that.
I am not really interested to be a driver. I maybe just forced by circumstance. It is a neccesity because no one will take me to the place where I want to go if I can't drive. My husband has to go to work. He can not take me anywhere I want at anytime and there is no available passenger vehicle in our area. I hate to think about driving but I have to do it. So, I studied and took the exam. Oh my!!! I failed. Lol.. I mastered all the traffic signs but don't know about the driving skills. All the questions on the written exam were about what to do when you are driving.. Like when you are driving down hill what gear you use, when you skidded on the road, etc. I can not remember all those things and what to do. All are found in the driver's manual but I did not pay attention to it. That was it. I failed but the good thing is you can retake as many times as you can until you pass. No payment until you will pass then they will issue your card and that's the time you will pay. I reviewed the manual and put everything into my head and retake the following day. Thanks I made it and I was issued a card. But then, I am still scared to drive on the road. I practiced several times on the back road and even drive going to Walmart just once. Lol..My permit is about to expire now but still I have no guts to get my license. It is really a dilemma for me. I hope I can make it in due time.

Driving Problem

Driving is the biggest fear for most lady immigrants. That is my problem too. I never experience driving in my life even driving a bicycle? I never experience it. You can just imagine how hard it is when you never have been in a driver's seat. I start to learn how to maneuver using the lawn mower.. hahaha In my first try, I am so scared. I can imagine the kids in my country who are really expert in turning the wheels of the go cart easily? Lol. Why I am so scared? In my childhood I never experience driving anything because I did not grow up in the city where kids are expose to driving GO CARTS, Kids cars on the malls , bicycles and everything. Oh My!!! But anyway, I made it. I learn maneuvering the wheels by using the Lawn mower. Then later, I used the car. You can just imagine how scared I am driving a car first time in my life? My husband was with me, and the more he scares me when he raise his voice to let me step on the break or gas, sometimes I am confuse with the gas and the break.. hahaha.. But I made it in few days. I practiced driving in our driveway. One time when I was about to park the car, I hit the lamp post in our yard. It's too bad, the post gets under the car. I am alone at that time and I can't get the post out. When my husband arrived, he jack up the car to take the lamp post out. I did not drive for few months since that incident. It was awful!!

Finding new Friends

Finding new friend is not that easy when you have no access to go anywhere. My only exposure is when I go to church and when I go to the super marker for grocery shopping. All the rest of my time is at home. I am confined in the 4 walls of our house. since I can not drive, I have no other option to be with people and make new friends except by using the phone. Well, I called my friends who are also a stay at home wife like me and ask them if they knew other Filipinos near me. Of course I am comfortable with people who have the same culture with me because we can easily relate to each other. I'm glad she did introduce me to other Filipinos she knows and I started to be alive. When I felt lonely I just dialed the phone and talk to them for an hour or 2. I'm so glad that one of them live close to my house and she can drive. hahaha.. then she will pick me up sometimes and we will go out to the malls and other thrift stores we Filipinos are fond of. The most exciting one is when we cook Filipino food in their house and eat as much as we can. It is a different thing when your friends are in the same culture. We are helping each other and sharing our bits of advice on how to survive in the foreign land.

Culture Shock?

When I first heard the words "culture shock" I did not pay attention to it. I don't understand what they mean of these words not until I had experienced it. When I was yet in my country, I used to hang out with friends after work. That is my normal life so to speak. I felt relaxed after the days work when I can talk to friends, co workers and even neighbors. When I arrived here in US, it's totally a different thing. Neighbors are very quiet. You can hardly tell if someone is living in the next door. As if all are busy with their own thing. You ca not see anybody standing outside their house or even sitting outside. Unlike in the Philippines you can see people everywhere. You can talk to your neighbors, ask questions and spend time talking to know each other better. I feel like a total stranger in our neighborhood. I 'm wondering where the people go? Lol. I feel all alone in the house. My husband is working everyday and I am left behind with no one to talk to. We have TV, internet and other musical instruments that I can use to alleviate my loneliness but these can never replace the happiness I would have to be with my friends as I used to in my country. I struggle to overcome but I made it in 2 years time. Dealing with culture shocked is really hard. It needs determination and positive thinking that you can make it.

Dealing with cultural differences

Dealing with cultural differences is not an easy thing. I was raised in a conservative society where people around me have their own standard and cultural values very different from the Western world. When I was in the Philippines, I am highly respected by the kids especially my students. Every time they will see me, they will bow their heads as a sign of respect and say their greetings like, good morning ma'am, good afternoon or good evening. It was a shocking experience for me when I arrived in the US where children just call me by my name. Oh!! What? I am 40 plus? Lol and they just call me by my name? the kids? at first as if I was choked. I almost reprimand them but I then realize, hey!! this is not my country and this is how they were brought up. How would I let them know I don't like the way they call me? Well, believe me, I wrestled inside me for I am not comfortable that the kids will just call me by my name. But can I change their culture? haha.. I came to realize I can never do that. As the days go by I learn to accept the fact that I am no longer in my country where kids respect the old people. Kids in the Philippines will never called the older ones by their names but here in US it is normal for them to do that.
